I'm Yumi Matsumoto. I'm an Applied Linguist, specialising in the research of English as a lingua franca, humour construction among multilinguals, gesture and L2 learning/development and application of complex dynamic systems theory for analysing classroom discourse. 

I am currently an Assistant Professor in Educational Linguistics division at Graduate School of Education at University of Pennsylvania.
